Teenagers' Meditation Courses

Ages 12 to 16

Dear Young Friend,

The teenagers' meditation course is strictly for children of ages 13 to 16. Teenagers interested in a course must read the code of conduct and timetable below very carefully and complete the required medical emergency form and application form. Please ask your parents to complete the permission form and return it with your application. After we receive your completed application and permission forms, accepted students will receive a letter of welcome to attend the course.

During a teenagers' course, the teenagers learn how to practice Anapana meditation along with the five precepts. These courses have been specifically designed for teenagers. They practice Anapana meditation with guided instructions in meditation hall for periods of up to 30 minutes. These sessions are interspersed with story and discussion sessions, break periods and games and art activities throughout the day.

Please print out the application form, medical emergency form and release for use of child photo form. If you are unable to print the forms, please contact the registrar with your name and address and application forms will be mailed to you. Fill out the forms and send them to the California Vipassana Center. After we receive your completed application and permission forms, we will review your application and contact you.

NOTE: Please leave all writing materials, books, games, cassette players, etc. at home. If you and your parents have any questions, you may contact the California Vipassana Center.
